From the vibrant streets of Benin City, Edo State, to eye catching fashion shoots, James Osazemwinde isn’t just making moves, he’s confidently walking his way into the spotlight of Nigeria’s fashion elite. From a family of seven, and twin to a sister who surely shares some of that star power, James had fashion woven into his DNA from day one. “Even as a kid, I knew how to combine clothes to make a killer outfit,” he says. By the time he hit university, his style was undeniable. Friends dubbed him “Fashion God” and honestly, the crown fits. Image 2 James began his professional modeling career in 2021 when he signed his first official modeling deal, marking the transition from his "campus cool" style to becoming a rising star in high fashion. Although he admits he's just getting started, his progress so far speaks for itself. “I haven't hit my surreal moment yet,” James admits, “but there was this time during an outdoor shoot, another brand literally stopped everything just to ask me to model their merch. That’s when I knew I carried the aura of a fashion model.” James’ personal style? Ever-evolving. “I don’t stick to one look. I dress based on how I feel,” he says. “Fashion is identity. Whether we admit it or not, the way you dress speaks before you even say a word.” Image 3 He’s quick to defend the new wave of Gen Z fashion. “People need to stop judging young creatives for being different. Fashion was always meant to evolve, it’s not just wearing clothes, it’s wearing your creativity.” James doesn’t just see modelling as a career, it’s a cultural movement. His shoots often feature a mix of models across race, body type, and background. “Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Modelling should reflect that,” he says. Conforming to standards? Never his style. “I go beyond the standard, I create my own.” With social media as his megaphone, he views platforms like Instagram as essential. “There’s no separation between modelling and social media anymore. One feeds the other.” Image 4 While acting may be on the horizon (“maybe someday,” he teases), his vision is clear: in five years, James Osazemwinde will be a top Nigerian model representing the country globally. And he’s in it for the long haul. “As long as fashion exists, I’ll be modelling.” The best part? Modelling hasn’t just given James fame—it’s given him confidence. “The way I walk and dress now speaks before I even do. That’s the power of fashion.” “Don’t stick to the norm. Create your own standard. And just start. Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts, that’s the secret of success.” Keep your eyes on James Osazemwinde. He’s not just modelling clothes, he’s modelling the future of fashion!
